If you like our vision and want to get involved (or just see what we're up to), email us! We encourage you to sign up for the mailing list and attend a general meeting, and if you'd like to become a member of the core group see the core group info below.

If you do not live near San Francisco and can't attend meetings, you may also choose to join us once we are established or get involved in other ways. Feel free to join the mailing list to stay posted about our progress! We send out occasional newsletters with information about upcoming meetings and the project's progress.

The core group

We formed a core group in February which meets on its own every month to do in-depth planning. We have taken this step with the hopes of breaking ground within five years, but hopefully as soon as two years.

The core group is a committed group of people planning the SDFE project, and being a core group member comes with certain responsibilities. Each member pays $10 a month in dues which go toward current operating expenses and at some point will fund coaches/expert help and larger expenses. The amount of dues contributed will either be deducted from joining costs or a proportional benefit will be bestowed at the time of development of the community. There is a process for spending dues money that requires approval by vote, and all the financial activities are completely transparent.  Core group members are also expected to regularly attend meetings and rotate responsibilities (hosting, note-taking, facilitating meetings, and so forth).

You can start the process of becoming a core group member at any time by attending a general meeting.
